Isle of Que Wedding | Adrianna & Doug

Where do I even start with this wedding?! I have absolutely loved working with Adrianna & Doug throughout their wedding planning. As Doug’s brother said during his toast, you don’t just meet Doug, once you know him you’re friends with him. So, hey there Doug, welcome to my friends circle - haha!

Adrianna planned an elegant tented wedding on family property on the Isle of Que, a quaint island on the Susquehanna River that was once considered sacred Native American land and now serves as the home of many of her relatives. Her uncle officiated the wedding, concluding the celebration with an old Native American benediction:

Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter to the other

Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other

Now there is no more loneliness for you, but there is only one life before you

Go now to your dwelling place, to enter into the day of your togetherness

And may your days be good and long upon this earth.

We quickly worked to complete our family, wedding party, and couples portraits before a storm rolled over the venue, dropping quarter sized hail and a brief tornado warning, but Adrianna & Doug’s family and friends rallied, literally held down the tent, and proceeded like nothing even happened once the skies cleared up, providing us with an incredible rainbow and sunset for the remainder of the evening. It doesn’t get much better than this! Congratulations Adrianna & Doug!
