Enchanted Forest Phoenixville Foundry Wedding | Maggie & Brian

phoenixville-foundry-wedding I met Maggie via Penn State Rugby about 13 or so years ago, when I walked into an indoor practice slightly terrified during my freshman year in Happy Valley.  Maggie was probably the most welcoming and spirited personality on the team; I don’t know if it’s really even possible to not like her.  Her passion for life and the things she loves is infectious.  Enter Brian, who also met her via Penn State Rugby (seriously, the wedding was one giant PSU reunion).  I was so, so honored to have the privilege to shoot this wedding for Maggie & Brian and I absolutely loved the theme she worked throughout the day in all of the details.  Maggie was going for an ‘Enchanted Forest’ look for this Phoenixville Foundry Wedding, which was such an amazing concept for the industrial/rustic space.  The Centerpieces were created with florals in plums and purples, with greenery and touches of succulents.  The tall pieces were draped with Spanish moss and all of the details fit so well into the overall vision for the day.

Maggie and Brian {finally} got engaged on Christmas Eve of 2015.

‘It was a surprise on Christmas Eve. We went to breakfast and he (I now know) pretended to leave his phone inside. In reality he ran back in, set up our table with flowers and his mom's ring and champagne and then ran back out to up to breakfast. When I walked in my first thought was who broke in and left flowers. As I realized it, from seeing his Mom’s ring, I turned around and there he was on one knee proposing with my ring. Tears and excitement ensued! He had prepared a day where we then took the pups into the city to a dog friendly hotel, had champagne and went to Amada, a fave restaurant. Christmas Day we woke up and came back out and had the whole family deal but Christmas Eve was all about us.

Maggie & Brian opted for a cocktail style reception with Sushi, Mac & Cheese, and Taco stations, as well as a Pie bar and a some killer late night stations (who doesn’t love soft pretzels after dancing the night away?).  The food was amazing & the Taco bar was a massive hit.  The two ended the night with a sparkler exit, and of course a song to say goodbye.
