Three Reasons to Have a Photo Booth at Your Wedding
I might be a little biased about the whole Photo Booth thing since I offer one as an add on or in select packages, but a Photo Booth is one of those things that I love to see at a wedding (a good photobooth, that is). After all, I invested in this specific booth because I feel that it's a great addition and a great fit for my couples, personally. Not only are they always a hit with guests, but done right, a professional Photo Booth adds so much value to your wedding experience! Today I'm breaking down the top three reasons to have a Photo Booth at your wedding on our Wedding Wednesday feature of the week!
Capture Your Guests
Let's face it, it's hard (OK, pretty much impossible in most cases) to capture every guest at a wedding. Since my style of photography during a reception is more documentary in nature, I don't typically walk around photographing each table (I like to spend my time on the dance floor and/or capturing candid moments), which means there might be many guests in attendance that don't appear in your wedding day images. Since the Photo Booth is great for all ages (seriously, just check out some of these photos if you disagree), you'll have an opportunity to have photographs of ALL of your guests. All of my Photo Booth packages come with digital files for my couples on their wedding day USB, so you'll have those images to keep forever. The Photo Booth is equipped with a true Canon DSLR camera so you can be sure your images are high quality, just like the ones I'm taking throughout the night.
Socialization/Entertainment
So, in case you didn't know, not everyone is a dancing queen. Which is fine.... sort of (I'm a big proponent of solo dance parties and dancing in general so I'm not sure what is wrong with these people). A Photo Booth makes a great source of entertainment for folks to enjoy who might not want to get up and dance right away (or even for those who just need a break from that dance floor!). I think one of the biggest concerns as a bride is that we want to be sure that our guests enjoy themselves, have fun, and stay as long as possible. A Photo Booth just gives another option for guests other than sitting at those tables.
Fun Favor
Let's face it, sometimes we go to a wedding and receive a favor that we don't know what to do with, so it ends up going in the trash. The worst part is, it's probably something that the couple spent a lot of time (and money) on creating for their guests. You can't win 'em all, I guess. A Photobooth can serve as a fun favor for guests (they get customized prints right on the spot) and they walk away with high quality photos of themselves and their family members while they're all dressed up for the occasion! My photobooth packages all also offer digital downloads of the images after the wedding for all guests via an online gallery, so they can take those images and use them for whatever they'd like! So many of my own friends keep their Photo Booth prints proudly displayed in their home, and it's always a hit! Here are some examples of our 4x6" print option. We also do classic Photo Booth strips and can accommodate more custom options, like a 'Polaroid Print'.
Tips for a Successful Photobooth:
- Put it in a visible place! The best place is somewhere right inside the reception venue that is visible. Think the corner of the room. The more people see the booth, the more inclined they'll be to use it!
- Choose a backdrop that Compliments the surroundings. We have a variety of backdrops to suit just about any style- (here are some of the new options for 2017 and most loved in 2016)
- Select hours of operation that will maximize the experience. I always set recommendations on this, but a Photo Booth is a great thing to have setup after the cocktail hour, when guests have had a chance to loosen up a little bit and enjoy themselves!
