Kira & Chad | Stone Barn Winery Wedding Selinsgrove
Rain, rain go away... That's what I wanted to say the morning of this gorgeous Stone Barn Winery Wedding in Selinsgrove, PA. Fortunately, I come prepared to weather the storms and capture beautiful moments rain or shine, and Kira & Chad did not let anything rain on their parade. Ok, ok, enough with the cheese. Kira & Chad put together a simply stunning day of close friends and family in the intimate setting of the Stone Barn Winery & Vineyard. When asked the inspiration for their wedding day, Kira stated that she was looking to give guests a taste of their day-to-day style & unwavering love. The couple definitely did just that! An artist, Kira thoughtfully crafted most of the centerpieces, decor, table settings, etc. Each table featured a terrarium delicately envisioned and created with love by Kira! Chad stated that they were inspired to create a rustic, charming day that invoked warmth.
I didn't know a whole lot about Chad & Kira prior to their wedding day, aside from the answers they had given me on my initial questionnaire and the hour we got together for our consultation. After photographing their wedding, I can tell you I felt almost like an old friend. They have a way about them as individuals and couples that is so warm and inviting, and their love for each other and those around them seems to grow that much more when they are together. During the ceremony, Kira and Chad chose to ceremonially wash each other's feet as well as the feet of their respective wedding party, symbolizing love, honor, respect, and humility. It was definitely one of those wow moments that I will remember for a very long time. On a cold rainy day in October, the combination of the love in the air, the stone fireplace, the woven textiles laid about the tables, and of course the chicken & waffle dinner was nothing short of warm and cozy!
What is your favorite memory from the day?
Chad: "So many to choose from (seeing her for the first time, dancing, spending time with loved ones, etc.)! I'd say our foot washing ceremony for each other and our bridal party had the most impact."
Kira: "Oh my! So so many! I think I’m with Chad on this one. Our ceremony was my biggest. Being able to show and share the love we have with the ones we love who don’t get to experience it on a day to day meant a lot to me. Being able show who we are together."
Do you have any advice for couples planning future weddings?
Chad: "Plan early and give yourself plenty of time to get things done. Lock down your big items (e.g. venue, caterer, and photographer) as early as possible. The good ones go quickly and you get what you pay for (which is why we went with Nicole DuMond!). Also, it's nice to have your ceremony and reception in the same place. Convenience is key for everybody involved! Lastly, nothing will go perfectly so go with the flow."
Kira: "This is YOUR wedding…and YOUR wedding ONLY. Do what YOU want. Always keep in mind the specialness of the day and remember to have fun. This is such a crazy and exciting time! It will fly by. And also what Chad said…the earlier in planning the easier it gets. Allows for more focus on the details the closer to the day you get. AND DON’T SHOW ANYONE THE SEATING CHART!"
