Shea & George | Strong Mansion Tent Wedding
Confession: Sometimes I cry at weddings.
Ok, so I might be {slightly} crazy, but sometimes I get swept up in the moment. I am seeing things through a camera lens, which often blocks out all distractions and everything around me for a brief moment, allowing me to focus purely on what's unfolding right in front of me. I wasn't always like this (highly emotional)... but I'll tell you what; having children has a way of putting life into perspective in a new light.
Now that I went off on that little tangent, the reason why I'm telling you all of this is because this was one of those weddings where I cried. And I cried a lot. I knew going into this wedding it would be an emotional day, and was it ever. The Strong Mansion tent wedding itself was absolutely stunning down to the tiny details, but there were also so many moments that were stunning. From the minute Shea met her dad at the bottom of the steps to start the day, to George standing through the entire ceremony on one leg, to George's sister breaking it down all night, to the intense (and insane) heat of the day causing Shea's grandmother to take off her pantyhose on the dance floor, literally every moment of the day was shiny and magical in a way that truly can't be described unless you were there.
"We’ve dated since our early teen years so we wanted a night to celebrate our relationship not only with each other but also with all of the people who’ve supported us along the way. We also wanted to mark this day as our new start together. We planned a secluded, intimate gathering surrounded by our dearest friends and family."
What was your favorite part of the day?
Shea - "There's no way I could pick just one! Reading the letter from George, when I peeked out the window and saw George in the distance right before I walked down the aisle, during the ceremony when a huge ray of sunshine burst through the clouds and it started sprinkling rain, the special dance with my dad, the last song of the night when we were surrounded with a circle of love...I could go on and on! Everything was perfect."
George - "Seeing my beautiful bride for the first time walking down the aisle and being able to share the day with friends and family that matter the most."
Do you have any advice for couples planning future weddings?
"Yes! You'll hear it many times while planning but if you're like us, you won't completely believe it. No matter what life hands you before the big day, it will all work out and be absolutely perfect. Don't sweat the small stuff (or the big stuff)!"
